RISK MANAGEMENT CHECKLIST (MAY, 2002) This practical risk management checklist was written by Carol Rolf and Aric Martin. It has been designed to focus on compliance in areas where our experience indicates that facilities are most likely to be at risk, i.e., they are most likely to suffer lawsuits, negative publicity, survey enforcement penalties, etc. In addition to the checklist, we have also provided some sample documents for nursing homes to consider, including disclaimer language for a plan of correction, an arbitration clause and a limitation of liability clause for an admission agreement, a restraint consent form, a quality assurance documentation policy, asurvey and enforcement protocol/checklist, and an authorization for the release of health information.
